Save the Date!

The Annual Simsbury Land Trust Membership Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th at Tulmeadow Farm. We will be having a variety of activities, including hay rides and hikes, along with a BBQ lunch and special ceremony to celebrate the completion of our protection efforts for the 73-acre woodlot.

We expect the ceremony to begin at 10:30, followed by the BBQ and activities at 11:00. Raindate is Sunday, Sept. 25 beginning at 11:30. Additional details will be sent when available.

Painting, Poetry and Photography Contest

How does nature inspire you? To write a poem, paint a picture or take a photograph? Please share your work with us by entering the Inspired By Nature: Poetry, Painting and Photography contest.

Open to everyone – adult entrants must be members of the Simsbury Land Trust. Student entrants are excluded from membership requirement. Entry deadline is October 1, 2011.

Enter in one or all of the following categories:

• Growth
• Water
• Seasons
• Time
• Light

There will be three age groups:

• Grades K – 8
• High School
• Adult Category

Art:

• Oil, watercolor or acrylic.
• Up to 24 x 36 inches
• All entries must be submitted in a form suitable for display purposes (matted, framed, mounted).

Poetry:

• All forms of poetry will be accepted.
• Limited to one page, minimum of 12 point type.

Photography:

• Black and white, color, computer enhanced are all acceptable.
• Must be submitted in printed format on photo quality paper.
• Minimum of 8 x 10, no larger than 11 x 14.
• If possible, also please include your image on disc.
