Join us for some fun in the sun!

A Celebration of Local Farms

Simsbury is the home to many family-owned farms, providing an abundance of locally grown produce. Join us on June 6 Farm Day to support these local family farms. Brochures available at our Membership Celebration at Tulmeadow Farm and on our website, www.simsburylandtrust.org. A variety of farm specials will be offered to SLT members on June 6.

Join us for a Membership Celebration at Tulmeadow Farm

10:00 - 1:00 p.m. • Tulmeadow Farm Fields and Woods

10:00 - 11:00 a.m. • Tulmeadow Farm History and Tour
Join Don Tuller on a tour of Tulmeadow Farm. A combination of a walking tour and hayride will take you on a historical tour of Tulmeadow Farm, with history and farming information provided by the farm owner. This is by reservation only, with a limited number of participants. RSVP to amyzeiner@aol.com or 651-8773 by June 5.

11:00 a.m. • Special Recognition Ceremony
A ceremony celebrating the completion of Phase II of the Campaign, the protection of the Tulmeadow Triangle and Pasture. Special recognition of select state, federal and local donors and an update on the status of the Tulmeadow Woodlot campaign.

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. • Membership Celebration and BBQ
Hayrides, walking tours, BBQ, ice cream and entertainment -- FREE for Simsbury Land Trust members and Simsbury residents. Hayrides and walking tours throughout the event.

60 Westledge Hike in Honor of Connecticut Trails Day

2:00 - 4:30 p.m. • Meet at the trail head on 60 Westledge Road, just past The Master's School.

We will take a hike of 3 miles to a traprock ridge with views of the Farmington Valley, returning through an adjacent valley with interesting geologic features. The trail is steep and rocky in places, moderate difficulty. Please wear sturdy walking shoes, with hiking boots recommended. Please bring water. Hike will be held rain or shine.

Canoe and Kayak Trip on the Farmington River

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. • Meet at Curtis Park for a trip to the starting point.

$25 per canoe or kayak rental.
$10 per person byob--bring your own boat--(SLT/FRWA members)
$15 per person byob--bring your own boat--(non member)

SLT and the FRWA will team up to host a canoe/kayak trip on the Farmington River. Trip begins at the Pinchot Sycamore Park and ends at Curtis Park. A brief introduction to water trails will be given at the beginning of this event. Transportation to the starting point will be provided. Pre-registration and payment is required to 860-651-8773.
